Introducing Tiffannee Boss
Welcome to the wonderful words of Tiffannee! Hi, My name is Tiffannee Boss and I do love to travel. I am currently a student at the University of Utah. I am in my last semester studying Exercise and Sports Science. I believe I have had a bit of travel experience compared to your average American. Growing up, my family and I vacationed 1-2 times a year to various tropical climates. Some of these include: the Bahamas, Mexico (5 times), Aruba, Grand Cayman, Hawaii, and various other islands in the Caribbean. As I got older I was privelaged to explore China for a whole month and sight see around a large portion of the country. While there, I was able to really appreciate the value of different cultures and the responsibility I have to raise awareness of other cultures and diversity. A few years after my visit to China, I journeyed to France and also caught a glimpse of various cities and historical sites. I was able to have another magnificent experience on building my awareness and appreciation for other ways of life. For the last two years my husband and I lived on the island of Puerto Rico. While living in Puerto Rico my husband and I visited several of the surrounding islands and many of the tourist attractions Puerto Rico has to offer. Dwelling right on the ocean, we both developed a great passion for salt water fishing. We were able to catch and release many varieties of fish. The fish you see in this picture is a Tarpoon, and is known as the carp of salt water. Yes, it was released immediately following the picture. This is only a small fish compared to some my husband and I have seen. We once caught a 100 lb. Tarpon. After having such great experiences and appreciating the sport of fishing I have really learned to respect the environment and lives of these amazing ocean creatures. I know this experience has created my passion and given me a better understanding for ocean life and the ecosystems of the sea. One of the famous predators of the sea is the great white shark. It is the great equalizer in our worlds oceans. Sadly enough, the great white shark is being exploited for its meat and fins on the international trade market. Many shark populations are dwindling because their reproduction rates can not keep up with their mortality rates. After being involved in my fishing experiences I can’t help but recognize the value of these creatures and their co-habitators. We must make a stand and protect these predators. I am writing so my voice can be heard by you and echoed to all that can, and will, do something about it! Please join me on my quest to help these beautiful creatures!
